PASTOR & CHAIRMAN OF SCHOOL BOARD – JASON SLUSS

PRINCIPAL & 5TH THRU 8TH – EMILY PURSIFUL

Emily began teaching at NHCS in February 2001 after receiving her B.A. in Education from Carson Newman College. She and her husband, Wesley, have five children and attend Stony Point Baptist Church. Emily teaches 5^th thru 8^th grade English, Spelling, and Math and Music.

Office Manager/CFO – JAMI MILLS

Jami became a part of the New Hope family in 2011. After teaching our K4 & K5 class for 5 years, she moved to the office as our Office Manager/CFO full time in 2026. She and her husband, Wesley, have three sons. They attend New Hope Baptist Church.  

1ST & 2ND – AMANDA MAPLES

Amanda holds a B.A. from UT Knoxville in Elementary Education. She earned her M.A. in Child Development from UT Knoxville in 2011. She joined the New Hope Family in 2017. She and her husband, Charles, have two children and attend Bethel Baptist Church.

3RD & 4TH – YVETTE PIQUE

Yvette joined the New Hope Family in 2012. She holds a B.A. in Applied Science and is our 3rd & 4th grade Teacher. She and her husband, Ronnie, have two children and attend Dante Church of God.

5TH THRU 8TH – ASHLEY SLUSS

Ashley began teaching at NHCS in 2011. She holds a B.A. degree in Child Development and a Teacher Licensure from Maryville College. She and her husband, Jason, attend New Hope Baptist Church. Ashley teaches 5-8^th grade Bible Studies, Science, Math and Literature.

5TH THRU 8TH – REBECCA LOCK

Rebecca joined NHCS in 2021. Rebecca earned a BA from the University of Central Florida. She teaches 5^th-8^th grade Heritage Studies and Reading. Rebecca and her husband Brandon attend Calvary Knoxville Church and have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter.

5TH THRU 8TH – LORA VINEYARD

Lora became part of the New Hope family officially in 2026. She holds a BA in elementary education from WGU. She teaches 5th-8th grade Spelling, Math, & English. Lora and her husband, Tyler, have three children and attend Bethel Baptist Church.

PE TEACHER & TEACHING ASSISTANT – HANNAH PURSIFUL

^{Hannah has been part of New Hope for several years. She joined the staff as a teaching assistant in 2025. She and her family attend Stoney Point Baptist Church.}

TEACHING ASSISTANT – SUSAN TAYLOR

Susan has been a part of New Hope for several years. She joined the staff as a teaching assistant in 2024. Susan, her husband, and their daughter attend New Hope Baptist Church.

TEACHING ASSISTANT – KRYSTAL KEATON

Krystal joined the New Hope family in 2026. She is the teaching assistant in our K4 & K5 class. Krystal and her husband, Josh, have one son and attend Ailor Dale Baptist Church.
