Alice Earl

Alice began teaching at NHCS in 1993. Alice truly loves teaching the K4/K5 class and is committed to the 

ministry of your child’s educational development. She and her husband, Jeff, have two daughters and 

five grandchildren.  They attend Horse Valley Cowboy Church.

5th thru 8th Grade: Melody Whitson

Melody Whitson

Melody began teaching at NHCS in 2010 and holds a bachelor's degree from Carson Newman University. She and her husband, Tony, have two children and attend Graveston Baptist Church.  Melody teaches 5-8th grade Bible,  Literature, Heritage Studies and American Republic.

Ashely began teaching at NHCS in 2011. She holds a B.A. degree in Child Development and a Teacher 

Licensure from Maryville College. She and her husband, Jason, attend Free Spirit Missionary Baptist 

Church in Maynardville. Ashely teaches 5-8th grade Science, Math and Reading .

Licensure from Maryville College. She and her husband, Jason, attend Free Spirit Missionary Baptist

Jami Mills

Jami attended Pellissippi State and became a part of the New Hope family in 2011. She is Teachers 

Assistant and also serves as Office Assistant. She and her husband, Wesley, have a son, Trey. They 

attend Community Baptist Church.

Diane Wood

Diane joined the New Hope Family in 1998. She began teaching the 3rd/4th grade class in 2000. God has 

blessed her with a strong desire for teaching and a great love for children. She and her husband, Harold, 

have one son and attend Fairview Baptist Church.

Emily began teaching at NHCS in February 2001 after receiving her bachelor's degree in education from Carson Newman College. She and her husband, Wesley, have five children and attend Stoney Point Baptist Church in Strawberry Plains where Wesley faithfully serves as Pastor. As much as Emily believes God has called her to be a wife and mom, she is confident in God's calling on her life to be a teacher. she approaches each day as another opportunity to share God with her students and works diligently to teach them the skills and academics they will need in order to influence this world for Christ.

She and her husband, Wesley, have five children and attend Stoney Point Baptist Church in Strawberry Plains where Wesley faithfully serves as Pastor. As much as Emily believes God has called her to be a wife and mom, she is confident in God's calling on her life to be a teacher. she approaches each day as another opportunity to share God with her students and works diligently to teach them the skills and academics they will need in order to influence this world for Christ.

Kim Smith

Kim is a graduate of Tennessee Tech Nashville and began teaching music at New Hope in 2004. She 

joined the office staff in 2009 and serves as Office Manager and Financial Officer.  She and her husband, 

David, have two children and attend New Hope Baptist Church.
